Content:
We have added approximately 1,000 new images from Scala Archives to the Artstor Digital Library, bringing the collection’s total to nearly 16,000. As one of our most utilized collections, Scala is best known for its high-quality representations of the canonical works of Italian art and architecture, largely from Italian repositories. While the current release includes many such works, we would like to highlight a less familiar aspect, namely emerging schools of modernism in Europe. The new selection includes monumental paintings that document the end of the old regime and the dawn of the new, across political, economic and social spectrums.
