JSTOR Recognized as a Finalist for 2025 EPIC Award in Podcasting and Marketing Campaigns Categories
JSTOR, part of the nonprofit ITHAKA, has been named a finalist for two 2025 EPIC Awards, presented by the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP).
- JSTOR Daily’s Conversations on Intellectual Humility has been nominated for consideration in the Podcast category, which celebrates audio projects that explore or promote scholarly publishing content or services. Eligible entries include episodic series, individual episodes, or special audio projects featuring interviews, discussions, or storytelling around key topics in the field.
- JSTOR Access in Prison’s submission on behalf of the collaborative team behind Eclipse Engagement in Prisons has been nominated for consideration in the Marketing Campaigns category, which recognizes strategic, multi-channel efforts that effectively promote scholarly publications or services. Campaigns may include advertising, email marketing, content marketing, event promotion, print materials, social media, and more.
The EPIC Awards program recognizes and celebrates remarkable teams and individuals in the publishing, information technology, and communications sectors for their significant contributions to scholarly communication through innovation, creativity, and dedication. By highlighting exceptional work in five key categories—Tools and Products, Publications, Marketing, Media, and Initiatives—the program sets a standard for excellence, encouraging others in the industry to push boundaries and achieve new heights.
“I am so proud of our teams and the work we do in collaboration with others committed to improving access to education and knowledge,” said Kevin Guthrie, president of ITHAKA. “Both of these projects demonstrate how we can make a tangible difference in people’s lives by bringing together individuals and organizations to pursue creative and impactful learning experiences..”
Representatives from the JSTOR Daily and JSTOR Access in Prison teams will attend the EPIC Awards Celebration and Dinner on May 29, 2025, during the SSP Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, where finalists will be recognized and winners in each category will be announced.
